Our History

The Dwayne D. Budgell Funeral Home is a family owned and operated business, ten-thousand square foot funeral home that opened in April of 1999. It is nestled on a pie shaped 2-acre lot at the south end of the picturesque town of Paris, Ontario. Dwayne and Gisele Budgell along with their business partner John Fazekas set out to design a building that looked comfortable in the small town setting, yet was functional and able to meet the needs of grieving families.

Dwayne Budgell

Dwayne Budgell is an award winning licensed Funeral Director who has graduated from both Wilfrid Laurier University and Humber College. Since opening his funeral home in 1999, Dwayne has built his business on one simple premise: Personal Service at a Fair Price. His dream has always been to create an oasis where the families he serves can feel at home.

His commitment to serving others has lead him to serve the community of Paris in many different capacities:

In his spare time, Dwayne enjoys a round of golf, philosophizing about just when the Leafs will win another Stanley Cup and having dinner out with friends. Dwayne also can often be seen in tow at the local mall as his wife Gisele and daughter Adeana attempt to teach him the fine art of shopping.

Gisele Budgell

Gisele Budgell is a graduate of the University of Guelph. She has worked tirelessly with Dwayne as they have built their dream. Her first priority has always been family, with business being a close second. Her commitment has always been to build the family business into a strong enterprise that can provide personal service at a fair price for families in need.

Gisele enjoys a robust afternoon of shopping, creating wonderful works of art on her sewing machine or baking up a storm in the kitchen. And though she may not readily admit it, is just as much of a Toronto Maple Leafs fan as her husband is!
